Knight Frank will be representing Cure Cancer Australia (CCA) to identify suitable Sydney CBD premises for them to use rent-free or on a discounted rent basis. Knight Frank will donate their expert office leasing services to this worthwhile cause and I will lead the search process.
This idea stemmed from the relationship that Philip Corne, Chairman of L Catterton, Cure Cancer Australia and past CEO of Louis Vuitton, has with Stephen Ellis and me.
We thought we could encourage owners within our investment community to make a donation of 150-200m2 of space to a worthy cause.
Our idea is that the rent could be donated back to the charity. We’ve even discussed the premise’s owner taking naming rights on a Cancer research project so we can make this philanthropic request quite attractive. CCA’s current premises have been provided on a similar basis, by the very generous AMP Capital, however that arrangement is coming to an end this year, with the redevelopment of AMP’s Circular Quay projects, which directly affect the Young street premises.
